Account & Data Deletion Policy
Last Updated: May 12, 2026
Because Scoop Vault does not use remote servers or cloud accounts, our account and data deletion process differs from traditional web services. This policy explains how you maintain total control over your data lifecycle.
No Account Creation Required
Scoop Vault does not require you to register an email, phone number, or username. You simply set a local Master Password upon first launch. Therefore, there is no remote "account" to delete on our servers.
How to Permanently Delete Your Data
Since all your data resides securely encrypted on your local device, you can permanently delete it at any time using one of the following methods:
1. In-App Deletion
- Navigate to Settings within the Scoop Vault app.
- Select "Security".
- Tap on "Erase All Data".
- Confirm your Master Password.
- Your encrypted database will be permanently wiped from the device storage.
2. Auto-Delete Functionality (Anti-Brute Force)
You can configure Scoop Vault to automatically wipe the vault after a specific number of failed login attempts. If this threshold is reached, the application will securely erase the database, protecting you against physical brute-force attacks.
3. Application Uninstallation
Simply uninstalling the Scoop Vault application from your device OS will command the operating system to delete the app's local storage directory, effectively destroying the encrypted database.
Note: If you uninstall the app without creating a backup, your data is irretrievably lost.
Data Recovery After Deletion
Once data is deleted via any of the methods above, it is cryptographically and physically unrecoverable. We do not possess backup copies of your data, and we cannot reverse a deletion event.
